The WHY Behind the Art

I've decided to start a blog to keep y'all up to date on the stories and processes behind the art I am making. It'll be an honest reflection of the art and the artist (moi). It'll also be a resource for collecting art and finding art that meets YOUR aesthetic.

Why is a personal aesthetic important?

Understanding the importance of a personal aesthetic are three fold. 

1. It allows for self-expression

2. It represents creativity and individuality

3. It creates a sense of well-being and mindfulness

Below I am going to delve into each facet to better explain their importance.

Self-Expression:

Our aesthetic choices, from clothing to music to how we decorate our homes, are ways to communicate who we are to the world. They allow us to express our unique personality, values and interests. Why is this important? It helps us find our tribe. It helps us find the people we genuinely connect with and in turn our self-expression inadvertently creates community with others. 

Creativity and Individuality:

This may be my favorite reason for having a personal aesthetic. It allows you to explore different parts of yourself. In this exploration it leads to better understanding of who you are and what you value .

Well-being and Mindfulness:

Especially today, we are in a world that doesn't stop. Taking the time to reflect about an environment that allows to have peace of mind is incredibly important. It can help you feel grounded, organized, and in control which in turn provides a form of self-care.
